A historical question: Since when has it been considered a basic standard of care to use rubber dam during endodontics?

Marc Semper: To my knowledge rubber dam had been established as a kind of standard of care in the US in the 60s/70s of 19th century. Not applying rubber dam was described as submarine technique then 😉
